This course is fashioned after our successful EQ50 Equine Anatomy Pre-Course Distance Study course. If you are planning on attending our signature CN3000 Caninology® Canine Body Worker (CCBW) Certification Course this is required pre-course study to prepare you for the certification course.
We are very excited about this course which was rewritten in 2018 by several veterinarians and Caninology CEO, Debranne Pattillo. We have fresh new illustrations to support the new manual which is over 145 pages. The illustrator, Rachel Walker has provided more canine muscle layers than most published anatomy books. We believe this new format and material will give this course the same success as our equine version.
Who should take this course? Dog owners, sport competitors, working dog owners, trainers, caregivers, groomers, bodyworkers, breeders, veterinarian technicians and assistants, physical therapists, kennel owners, pet sitters and anyone in the health care industry who would like to expand their current knowledge. Lay down the bones and learn those layers of muscles as well as veterinary anatomy! Understand what it means if someone says they are flexing or extending a joint or if they are abducting a limb. If you are serious about continuing on to learn bodywork as a professional, you need the lingo if you want to play with the big kids.
You will find it beneficial for any bodywork approach, biomechanics, lameness, grooming, conditioning or stretching course or workshop you plan to attend now or in the future. Get your head start now. This online course is now open to anyone wishing to broaden their knowledge of veterinary terminology, behavior and the musculoskeletal system of the dog. You will also find it very helpful if taking courses from any program including Caninology courses in anatomy, neurology, biomechanics and any other modality for dogs.
Signing up for this course now allows you the luxury of studying well ahead of time if you intend to take courses in the future, or if you are looking for a review. With the expanded CN3005 course, we have determined it takes around 100 hours to complete.
Canine communication and behavior, handling dogs, veterinary and anatomy terminology, directional terms, bony landmarks and surface markings, skeletal system, joints and movement and the canine muscular system.
Learning activities and exercises are included throughout the new manual. We also have a private Canine Anatomy Facebook group site which is limited to registered students. You can ask questions here, see shared resources and communicate with your classmates. Once you are registered you will be sent an invitation to the group. Debranne Pattillo and Caninology Instructors will be monitoring the group should you have any questions directly in regards to the course material.
This is a self-paced group. There is no need to be in front of a computer at a scheduled time and you have one year from the date of registration to request the exam. Once you have requested the exam you have two weeks to complete it. Currently, it is a written exam but as soon as time allows it will go online.
Please note: You do not have to finish the CN3005 to attend the CCBW course, but you must be extremely familiar with veterinary terminology and the skeletal system. The more you know in advance the more you will get out of your onsite courses.
Price: $95 per person; includes E-manual
Please take note! Upon your payment being processed you will receive immediate access to download the course manual and other materials.
By the way… we have the only 300+hour Certification Program which is strictly dedicated to equine and canine bodywork in California and which is approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE)!
If you are wanting a closer look at our Caninology® Canine Body Worker (CCBW) Certification, the CCBW course number is CN3000.
Methods of Instruction and Delivery: This is a self-paced course. Although it is designed to be completed in less than two months, we do allow the student one year from the time of registration to complete at home. The complete course manual (172 pages) is sent to you via a hyperlink from Hightail.com to download directly to your computer to save or print. You do not have to purchase the text.
If you prefer a hard copy you are free to print a copy for yourself. If you do not have access to printer remember you can download the link onto a USB and take it to your favorite print store.
There are Additional Learning Activities within the manual which are required components of the course, not optional. If you do not complete them you will miss a good deal of the course.
When you have completed reviewing all the course content, you will request the open book final exam and you have a time limit of one month to complete the exam. No worries! You have 3 attempts to pass
